Winter Running

I love running but I hate being cold!!  The only possible way to get me out the door is knowing I am wearing something that will keep me truly warm.  I have had so many days where I get all bundled up and hit the cold air, and back in I go – jump on the treadmill!  I wimp out all the time!

I have finally figured out the best clothes for me!

Key to winter running in my opinion:

Next my ears have to be warm, and I am not big on thick stocking caps, so has to be just the right warmth without being heavy or too thick, yet keep my ears warm and toasty – so….

Light and yet my head does not get cold! (On bone-chilling days I add another stocking cap over it.)

This one is also super comfortable and warm, and looks cool too! 🙂

The next thing is the most important to keep your feet and toes warm!

These may be too warm for some but on cold winter days I love a little longer one and these keep my feet super warm!

If you want something not quite so big and thick, this is my next go to it it isn’t totally freezing out, yet still keep your toes warm and toasty!

Basically if you keep your ears warm, your hands nice and warm, and your toes toasty you will have a great run in the winter!

One little add on for those cold days, or when you just need a little more warmth, I always have these in a pack just in case, and a lifesaver on those 50-100 mile runs when you get slow and the sun goes down!

I will have more posts on the clothes I cannot run in the cold without! I just wanted to get out the 3 most important things in my opinion to keeping warm for winter running!
